Přirozená obnova lesa po disturbanci lýkožroutem smrkovým \kur{ (Ips typographus} L.)
ROTOVÁ, Alžběta
This master's thesis focuses on evaluation of natural regeneration of forest in the non-intervention zone near Březník. Spectral data and spectral vegetation indices are examined and put in relation to terrain data for evaluation of the forest recovery. The highest gradation of bark beetle in the study area occurred between 1995 and 1998. Since then the tree defoliation accelerated the natural forest recovery. I assessed the forest recovery in 15 research plots and compared the recovery with the data collected by the Šumava national park in 2008 and 2009. Results of terrain measurement showed slight decrease in number of seedlings and saplings compared to years 2008 and 2009. Comparison of the field recovery data with the spectral indices revealed a regression relation between the natural regeneration and the vegetation indices. When comparing these data, the most suitable index for evaluating the natural regeneration was the index FRI2. The optimal time within the vegetation period for the evaluation of natural forest recovery using spectral data was also tested in this thesis. Results showed the optimum is at the end of spring and at the end of vegetation season. The highest rate of natural regeneration in our study area is on the west slopes of area Mokrůvky and on the south-west slopes exposed to high amounts of sunlight. Areas of closed forest formations are followed by areas where the forest regeneration is pure but the herbaceous vegetation is greatly developed. Results of the thesis show that spectral data and spectral indices are suitable for evaluation of forest recovery. The remote sensing methods bring the systematic data coverage for better understanding of the forest processes.
Bohemian wolf, evil or salvation? The view of key actors on the return of the wolf to Šumava
Baborová, Hana ; Rynda, Ivan (advisor) ; Novotná, Hedvika (referee)
Introduced diploma thesis deals with the research of the attitudes of individuals affected by the issue of wolfs returning to the National Park. Opinions were obtained through interviews and questionnaire survey. Results were also compared with previous research called Transboundary Socio-economic Monitoring Scheme in the and Bavarian Forest Mts. which also deals in part with the issue of the wolf. The work thus describes the development of public attitude over time. The aim of the work is to provide insight into local issues, describe the attitudes of individuals and define the factors that affect different views. The theoretical part describes the studied area and the beast, as well as its impact on the landscape, biodiversity and man. The practical part focuses on the specific attitudes of stakeholders, from which it derives hypotheses for the questionnaire survey. In conclusion I have evaluated the outlined goals of the work using combinations of qualitative and quantitative methods. Key words National park Gray wolf, return of the canine, view of acters, changes of perception

Conflict within biodiversity and socioeconomical development in National parks - case study from the National park Bohemian Forest
KULÍŠEK, Pavel
This thesis deals with the conflicts between nature conservation and the socioeconomic situation of municipalities in the model territory of Bohemian Forest National Park. This territory is made up of six municipalities that have their entire cadastral territory in the Bohemian Forest National Park. These are the municipalities of Prášily, Srní, Modrava, Horská Kvilda, Kvilda and Stožec. A questionnaire survey was carried out to solve this topic, a media analysis was carried out and a SWOT analysis of the opponents and supporters of nature conservation was made. The results showed that the inhabitants of Bohemian Forest NP are not socio-economically disadvantaged compared to the inhabitants of municipalities that do not belong in the national park. The inhabitants of the area are social and nature-related. Residents of the park also have good knowledge of nature conservation and appreciate it. The most important topics in the media analysis were the construction on the territory of the municipalities, the legislative changes and the issues of the bark beetle. Most of the resources come from media of national importance and the rest are classified as regional. The SWOT analysis shows that nature conservationists should focus more on passing on the results of expert studies towards the public. Opponents of nature conservation have interests in the Bohemian Forest region. Based on the results of the work, measures were put in place to alleviate conflicts between nature conservation and the socio-economic development of municipalities.

Rataj, Stanislav ; Perlín, Radim (advisor) ; Cudlínová, Eva (referee)
This thesis focuses on the issue of the development of the Šumava National Park, which is in the long-term determined by external political and social circumstances. In terms of the local development there are defined key actors whose activities and level of their cooperation affects the quality of social capital, which influences the character of horizontal and vertical social networks. An important aspect of the social-economic development of the case study area is the relationship between local municipalities and the Šumava National park management, whose activities are regulated by specific laws. Based on field survey of representatives of local development we identified key factors forming this relationship and affecting the social development of the protected area. The analysis of common use of horses in forestry has been carried out via the survey method and personal visits. Evaluation and subsequent information analysis was carried out with the focus on the economic side of using horses in forestry and on the estimate of the perspective of their further use. Simplified maps of the South Bohemian Region are a part of the diploma thesis, portraying stables where there are working horses being boarded and capturing possible locations where horses may be used for forestry purposes.

Modelling of spruce forest decay caused by the European spruce bark beetle in the area of Bohemian Forest using GIS
BROŽ, Zdeněk
This thesis deals with the bark beetle population gradation which resulted in dieback of montane spruce forest in the central part of the Bohemian Forest, Czech Republic, during 1991 - 2000. A spatio-temporal model of changing land cover has been made using remote sensing and GIS methods. The statistical analyses have been made using generalized linear models (GLM). The possible effect of various conditions and environmental factors at landscape as well as the stand level has been discussed.
A Property Rights Concept of The National Park Šumava
Krejčí, Lucie ; Slavík, Jan (advisor) ; Slavíková, Lenka (referee)
The theme of the work is the management of the Sumava National Park. Publicized problems concerning the intervention rate, zoning, construction, management and status of local communities are conceived in the context of state ownership of the park and its public administration. Institutional change is possibly the logical solution. The cause of conflict in the SNP is searching with the use of stakeholder analysis. The method takes the form of interviews with representatives of interested parties, followed by a synthesis of observed attitudes and opinions. Despite some differences and divergent views on specific issues they see as the main obstacle agreements failure and legislation disregard, so it is a socio-political problem. The following is an economic aspect (lack of funds and poor management of them) and environmental (especially the form of zoning). Regime management change, however, they do not evaluate as a solution of the existing disagreements.
